Job Summary:
A Warehouse Technician is responsible for managing inventory, organizing, and maintaining the overall operations of a warehouse. Their role involves a combination of manual labor, administrative tasks, and ensuring that goods are received, stored, and shipped efficiently.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Receive, store, and organize inventory.
- Track and update inventory records accurately in the system.
- Conduct regular stock audits and physical counts to ensure accuracy.
- Pick and pack orders for shipping.
- Ensure items are correctly labeled, packaged, and prepared for shipment.
- Ensure the warehouse and common area are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
- Optimize storage space for efficient operations and easy access to items.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Adhere to safety standards and guidelines within the warehouse.
- Ensure the proper handling and storage of hazardous materials when necessary.
- Report any safety issues or hazards to supervisors immediately.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on warehouse equipment.
- Ensure all tools and machinery are in good working condition.
- Update inventory management systems with new stock, returns, and inventory adjustments.
- Assist with company events such as setting up and tearing down.
- Verify reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and discrepancies.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to internal departments or external clients when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working in a warehouse environment or similar role.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management systems (e.g., fishbowl, Oracle).
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience.
- Require standing, walking, bending, and climbing may be required throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
